   That is exactly what I thought. My real question is this: what is going on in third panel? Is it supposed to be funnier than an even OLDER person has a Metallica ring tone?

   ’cause it’s not that funny.

   But then again, I don’t think that young people look like aging hippies, either. (with apologies to any aging hippies out there…)

   Not to mention that old people believe that young people are still listening to Metallica, and are apparently unaware that Metallica would probably pounce legally on any cellphone manufacturer who made ringtones of any part of their oeuvre.

   Surprisingly, though, young people (ie, 13 year olds) ARE listening to Guns N’ Roses. Go fig THAT.

   That guy looks like he’s the same age as me. Maybe it’s just what he thinks a 36-year-old person looks like, in which case there’s no plausibility problem in the first panel, since it’s perfectly logical for a 36-year-old to recognize Metallica. The remaining question is just why the strip was drawn in the first place.

    There’s no plausibility problem in the first panel, since it’s perfectly logical for a 36-year-old to recognize Metallica. But he is afraid by himself that he is old so he said that he use another old people’s mobile phone. Actually how old he is depends on how fit and firm he is and attitude.
