Metapost: Two quick tributes to Aldomania

Say, have you ever wanted to watch Aldo stalk Mary Worth to the wacky tune of that music from Benny Hill? Thanks to YouTube, now you can!

And say, have you ever wondered what it would be like if Mary had her own blog, which she updated in between bouts of meddling? Well now, thanks to Blogger, you no longer need to wonder!

This is all starting to freak me out just a little bit.

That’s “Yacketty Sax” by Boots Randolph.

    You’re welcome.

    First!

I’d been thinking that the fashions sported by Tommie and Mary Worth the last few days were about as bilious and nauseating as any shade of green could get. Then I saw Sergio Garcia’s shirt in the opening round of the PGA. This is starting to feel like some sort of conspiracy.

Now if we can just get Aldo’s blog, we can solve the kidnapping before he drugs Mary, throws her in the trunk and keeps her prisoner in the basement. Maybe I don’t want Aldo’s stalking to be solved after all.

Before I ever came on this blog I didn’t give MW a second thought, now I find myself the happiest girl in the world because I just watched Mary Worth being chased to the strains of “Yakkety Sax.”

Oh, how I have fallen. For Shame.

MW has been around longer than I’ve been alive. Nice to see that SOMEONE is finally getting some productive mileage out of that strip. That animation is the best use I’ve seen for MW since Mad Magazine did their “How The Comics End” series back in the ’60s.

Wow, that video is brilliant. Nice attention to detail, utilizing all the different poses/facial expressions of Mr. Kelrast.

Why is this a “metapost”? I’ve always been baffled “metaposts” like this — the post isn’t about The Comics Curmudgeon, so I don’t understand what’s “meta.” It’s just some good-hearted wild and wacky stuff from the vast Mary Worth fan universe. Despite not including any strips, I think it deserves to be deemed a full-fledged “post.” [shedding a single tear]

Seriously. Thank the Lords of Irony, for they in their graciousness have allowed us to enjoy the wonder that is Mary Worth. She brightens my day and haunts my quiet moments.

I must admit, today’s MW [Aldo: "Your lips (well, he says 'words' but we know what he means) may say 'no, no' but there's 'yes, yes' in your eyes"] is just fabulous. Strip has finally gone around the bend from lunatic to campy, and I, for one, am rooting for Mr. Kelrast.

When is Aldo going to get his own, self-titled strip? I think his sad lonely life and dangerous obsession with Mary Worth would make a great syndicated feature. The tone would be just like those Garfield cartoons that fans created by taking out Garfield’s dialogue to emphasize the disturbed and lonely isolation of Jon….but without the jokes about spiders or Mondays.

It seems strange that the only things I’ve ever seen with that music in the background have been parodies. Well, no, actually it doesn’t seem strange at all.

    But it does seem hilarious…

Who the hell is ALDO KELRAST? Where the devil did he come from? If I may be so bold, I offer these anagrams which might give us a clue:

“Dollar Steak” – maybe his plans for the hot date with MW?
“Real Old Task” – a cry for help form the story editor?
“Steal Lard, Ok?” – a subversive message to the unwitting fried food eater?
“Last Elk Road” – a comment on endagered species?
“Sold Rat Lake” – declaration of his dubious wealth?

7 – My favorite: I saw a Sunday installment of ‘Li’l Abner’ printed in a book where a long-suffering comic strip artist uses his mother-in-law as the model for his ‘Mary Worm’. To give himself a break he sends her off on a vacation, and she hauls off to Dogpatch to meddle in Abner and Daisy Mae’s marriage. Wish I could see where they went with it.

13 – AAUGH! That was hilarious! Nasty, but hilarious.

the mary worth blog is run by some of the foobiverse posters.
And they link to Howard Kelpfroth’s blog too. And April Patterson’s real blog. It’s really good stuff, all of it!

Foobiverse and its associates is amazing, a must visit for any FBFW critic.

This is pretty great. I was wishing for more “Is Mary Worth Stalking” news (and thanks to the commenters in a previous thread who provided some) and now, on my birthday, I get a triple hit. Fab. Not only that, but as FleaBailey points out, Aldo’s last comment is pure camp. What’s not to love?

(Answer: Josh’s musings about Mary and mustaches. GAH. Must find bleach to rinse out brain.)

I remember song lyrics from long ago, – Your lips tell me “no, no,” but here’s “yes, yes” in your eyes. -
But that was before all the young Aldos should have learned No means No!

Of course, great YouTube bit. Only thing missing is somebody patting the bald head of a short, old guy. Maybe the gent sitting on the park bench.

Actually, I’d love to see the same footage using the “Capt. Kangaroo” theme music. Not sure why, just goes well with it.

The only way it could be improved is if it followed the premise to the logical end of a whole crowd of people chasing Mary around. Maybe Dagwood, Mark Trail, Dick Tracy, The Phantom, Margo in her Double Snakebite Finger-Quotin’ stance, and others. Except the guys from Rex Morgan. They only stalk each other.

I watch that video of Aldo stalking Mary often because sometimes one just needs a good laugh. One thing that I think may add something to it is if a laugh-track was added, like in Benny Hill. Someone get on that! Chop chop!

Among the best attributes that have been included throughout
version 3 could be the automated revisions. Because of this free
water limitations usually are up to date immediately in addition
to whenever you operate the program. As these limitations
tend to be dynamically staying added as well as decrypted, which means you can acquire one particular
program code so when a person reactivate the program following couple of minutes the particular data source ought
to rekindle along with completely new requirements.
It is fantastic since just before model 3.
0 end users needed to get fresh variation from the
compromise daily which in turn covered brand new requirements.
