Toby’s gonna drown those birds and ironically it’ll make Ian love her again

Mary Worth, 10/11/26

Apologies, Mary Worth, for implying a few days ago that this dream sequence would not match the boxing Wilburbabies in madness. Parrots! Toby’s beloved parrots! Who, in her mind (at least the subconscious part) are lovers? Perhaps the only two true lovers that Toby knows? And thus she’s imagining various parts of them fading in and out and being replaced by Mary and Ian’s corresponding parts? Bleak stuff! Bleak, terrifying stuff! I like the fact that Ian’s tie and Mary’s trademark cowl neck are the only features that remain constant in both parrot-human hybrid variations. I hope these images recur to haunt Toby for months to come!
Shoe, 10/11/26

Oh, it looks like Shoe also has a dead uncle to crack wise about. He doesn’t merit some kind of cute wordplay, though. “Yeah, he was a dumb asshole and he blew himself up,” that’s what Shoe wants us to know about him. “His guts were everywhere, it was awful.”
Mother Goose and Grimm, 10/11/26

Cinderella is giving Prince Charming real bedroom eyes here, implying that her “great” is not sarcastic and that pumpkin spell is a powerful aphrodisiac in the Grimmiverse. Much to think about.
Blondie, 10/11/26

No! No!! The creators of Blondie have learned about the Gigachad meme! We need to cut the boomers off from the internet en

Rex Morgan Mashup: A more honest final panel.
Family Circlejerk – HTT Grandma is going to smote Dolly for that one. And, of course, blame Dolly’s harlot mom for such blasphemy.
MW: One matter transporter accident is a tragedy. Two of the same “accidents” seems deliberate. To paraphrase David Hedison, “don’t help us! we can fly! give us a cracker! ::whistle::”
MG&G: The look on the Prince’s face says “Your pumpkin isn’t going to smell either of my balls.”
Blondie: The AI seems have enhanced Dagwood’s fleshy neck rolls, implying that these are a sign of manliness in the Blondie-verse. Perhaps whatever species Dagwood is (black eyes, antennae, double joined legs – some kind of insect, perhaps) grows neck skin the way human men grow beards.
MW: Welp, better late than never I guess…
CS: Is it me, or is Davis starting to give up? There’s something ‘off’ about today’s strip, the characters (such as they are) don’t seem to have quite the same ‘pop’ in their actions and reactions. Maybe he just had an earlier tee time than usual, I dunno…
RMMD: Yes, Fergus, ‘movie star’ money that could be financing cancer research, or wells in Africa, with maybe a bit spent here to use this theater for its intended purpose as a ‘thank you’ to the community for welcoming her. Trying to make Glenwood into Branson 2.0 however? She won’t have that money for very long…
JP: Well, when you put it that way it does sound like a bad spy movie, doesn’t it?
Birds don’t have muffins! (Well, maybe in Shoe.)
MARY WORTH: Ugh, these Birdemic sequels are getting quite silly (this one does have a more plausible romance subplot though.)
MARY WORTH (2): Not since Luann’s controversial moment where Brad and Toni had “Tee-hee waterbaby” time right there on the panel has there been a panel that pushes the boundaries of erotic vulgarity than dream-parrot Ian explaining how “Mary’s muffins taste the best”. It’s like who’da thought the comics page would morph into Penthouse Forum so rapidly.
Toby, it will a red flag when Ian comes home after a long day of professoring and asks for a nice plate of “quality pellets”.
MW: This made me extra-glad I got out of bed this morning.
RMMD: “But, Sugarbritches, I liked it better when you were an anonymous hash slinger and I was the famous one around here!”
BLONDIE: “And then there’s looksmaxxing, Dad; if you beat your face with a hammer, you can REALLY look like that third picture!”
Shoe: “Speaking of gas, would you mind standing a little farther off, Perfesser?”
MW- God, please let it be her birthday tomorrow!
JP Pointing out a badly-written script doesn’t magically make it better!
CS The weekdays _did_ show Crankshaft at Drug City, for a flu shot, rx pickup, and buying a pill container. The objects have morphed into markers that could have been bought elsewhere than a drugstore (and probably more cheaply). Does even the writer know whether this is supposed to be a continuity strip anymore?
MW: I’m struggling to imagine this arc’s moral lesson. “Don’t gossip, it will give people bad dreams?”
It’s entirely possible this will end with Mary counseling Toby on the danger of listening to rumors, rather than chastising Nelly for starting them. Come to think, that’s kind of what happened last time, which began with Tommy but then crash-veered into a Wilbur story.
Beetle Bailey: This comic starts with the mention of a wiener doodle and gets progressively more disturbing. I don’t even know what to think of Otto imagining himself as being some crossbreed poodle abomination.
Blondie As others have noted, neck rolls are taken as attractive by the image-enhancement algorithm of the Blondieverse. Who knew the Michelin Man was the Alpha there? They started with restaurant ratings to get people to drive around with their tires and have completely taken over the culture
